Marc Marquez, the six times MotoGP champion shared a glimpse of his personal life with GQ. Last season was unfavourable to the rider as he sustained injuries and could not participate in few races. That affected his performance and the team’s standing in the constructors. He is back now all recuperated and ready to battle. 

Marquez was recently at the Red Bull Athlete Performance Centre. This was for the pre-season physical testing. He completed his medical test and the endurance test. It was to take a step further to prepare for the 2023 season. He is outspoken about the fact that he is in the best shape right now and is clear about his primary goal.

In his interview with the GQ magazine, Marquez opened up like never before. He spoke about his retirement possibility back in 2022. He emphasised on the importance of his health. “If you don’t take care of your body, you can’t practice your sport”  After sharing intimate details of his mental health as well he spoke about his personal life.

“Everything I had in mind when I started has been fulfilled before I was 30” said the 29 years old on his achievements.“What I didn’t expect were injuries”. I have thought very little about my personal life. My goals have always been professional,” he continued. “Professionally, let whatever I can and what I earn come, and personally I would like to create a family, but that does not depend only on me either. Today I’m here in Madrid and I don’t know tomorrow or next year, I like to live in the present,” he concluded.

Marquez revealed that his professional life was always ahead of his personal life. It is a hectic schedule and the risk taker is focused on his upcoming season. As a racer he needs both his arms to be 100 percent efficient. He feels his arm is significantly better and that he would know for sure once the season begins.The “Ant of Cervera” is very confident about the 2023 season.

Although he wants to be realistic, he has his eyes on the prize. After several injuries and sitting out of races he is in for the consistent run. Repsol Honda will launch their livery on 22nd February and Marc Marquez and Joan Mir are ready for the season. It will be interesting to see where the two riders finish at the end of the 2023 MotoGP season.
