The NASCAR race weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway was challenging for everyone. The garage was mourning the death of future Hall of Famer Kyle Busch, who died mid-week owing to severe pneumonia at the age of 41, while still fighting on the track for wins and points. It was Spire Motorsports’ Daniel Suarez that came out victorious on the day and he dedicated it to the late legend.

The No:7 team wasn’t in the contention till a couple of wrecks and the weather delay changed the race dynamic in the final stage. It was his maiden win for the new team and he dedicated it to Busch, who gave him opportunity in the lower division when he moved to USA from Mexico. He declared that the win is for the late RCR driver and his whole family.

It’s been a very tough week. Kyle, he was a special man. This one is for Kyle. For Kyle, for Samantha, for Braxton, for Lennox, for all his family.

Daniel Suarez told Amazon Prime post-race.

Furthermore, Daniel Suarez admitted that winning the longest race of the season is special for him and doing it for Kyle Busch makes it extra special. They were also teammates at JGR, when the lower division runs finally paid off for the Mexican American. The fact that Spire is currently operating from race shop that was sold to them by Kyle Busch Motorsports makes the tribute more unique.

You know, every win is special. But definitely this one has a special flavor because of Kyle. This one is for him. If it wasn’t for Kyle, I wasn’t going to be an Xfinity champion. I wasn’t going to have my shot in the Cup Series. To be able to win this race for him is unbelievable.

Daniel Suarez asserted.

Earlier in the same race, the veteran racer highlighted another personal reason that makes the Coca Cola 600 his favorite event. It’s the only race in the schedule where he has everyone in his family on the stands to support him and that makes it more emotional.

I’ve been saying for years that this is my favorite race of the year. I get to have my family here every year. This is most of the time the only race that I get to come.

Daniel Suarez admitted.

Joe Gibbs admits Kyle Busch was larger than life racer

Ahead of the race week many of the prominent NASCAR penalties shared their tribute for the legend. One of them was Busch’s former boss Joe Gibbs, who helped the legend to dominate the sport for 15 years. He admitted that the racer was larger than life was a NASCAR locomotive, who thrived under all the pressure.

When you think about Kyle’s life, how do you capture somebody’s life, particularly a guy that’s bigger than life? His crew chief had the best description. Kyle was like a NASCAR locomotive. Get on board, he’s going to take you to some great places. Don’t get in front of him; he may go over the top of you.

Joe Gibbs said about Kyle Busch.

The comments from the veteran are on point, as the legacy the 234 times NASCAR race winner is leaving behind in the sport is unparallel. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the star drivers in the coming years.
