Though the team debutant Ross was the leader on the field for Trackhouse by securing two race wins, Suarez also impressed the cup garage with his performance. He made history with his Sonoma win, which made him the first Mexican to win a cup race in NASCAR history. He scored Seven top 10s and five top 5s for the Chevy team this season.

The Mexican acknowledged that Ross Chastain did an excellent job in 2022 and pointed out that he was close to the performance of the No:1 team 70% of the time this season. He said, “Ross did a very good job this year. They put the bar in a good spot. Ross and his team, consistently, they were strong. We were probably 70% [of the time] with them,”.

His teammate inspires Suarez to chase glory in the 2023 season. He said, “It’s a motivation, and I feel like there are a lot of things to celebrate. We did a good job as a team — a lot of good days, a lot of bad days as well that we have to learn from,”.

Daniel Suarez pointed out that the No:99 crew was able to exceed many people’s expectations in 2022. He added that the No:99 team now holds them to a higher performance standard. Suarez said that it would be a tough job for them to perform at the level next year.

“This year, we exceeded many people’s expectations inside of our team. Now many people inside our team believe that we belong to this standard. So I believe — it won’t be easy — but I think we are going to be able to put the bar on a higher level,” Daniel Suarez said.

He believes it is a realistic dream for them to secure a Championship 4 spot in 2023. He said, “I would like to win a few races and make the Championship 4. And I think that is realistic. … We have potential to do amazing things,”.
