NASCAR has extended its partnership with tire manufacturer Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. The 70-year-long collaboration will go on for multiple years. The extension was signed just before the 2022 NASCAR Award ceremony in Nashville.

Goodyear and NASCAR partnership started way back when the organization was still making a name in the 1950s. The company has produced some of the most sophisticated tire technologies for NASCAR and has been an essential part of every major update ever done to the cars.

The company produces nearly 100,000 tires to use in all three tiers of the NASCAR national series and will remain to do so for many more years. The racing slick, the radial tire, and now the latest Goodyear Racing Eagle are some of the most significant products the firm has produced for NASCAR.

Along with keeping the rights of being “the official tire sponsor of NASCAR,” they will continue to sponsor the throwback weekend cup race at Darlington Raceway, the Goodyear 400. The new partnership will be vital for NASCAR as it is now more focussed on making the Next-Gen car safer, and having safer tires is a big part of it.
