Jabrill Peppers credited the New England Patriots 21-18 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers to head coach Bill Belichick. It was a much-needed victory, considering it was the veteran coach’s worst-ever start to a season with the Patriots since 2000.
The Thursday night victory will not matter much considering it was only their third W of the season. But it will help to inject some confidence in the offense, especially the run game, which has been lacking.
They have the 3rd lowest rushing touchdowns in 2023 (6). However, at Acrisure Stadium, it was a different game. Running back Ezekiel Elliott carried the ball 22 times.

In addition, Bailey Zappe, the backup quarterback, had a breakthrough performance. He became the first Patriots quarterback to toss three touchdowns in the first half since Tom Brady in 2018. Without Coach Belichick’s direction, Peppers thinks they would not have been able to execute as well as they did.
We needed it. I just feel good that we get it done for Bill [Belichick] and the rest of the coaches. They work extremely hard trying to put us in the right place to make plays, and we did enough to win the game tonight. The Patriots safety said after the game.
Jabrill Peppers believes that Bill Belichick receives a lot of unfair criticism
It has been tough for the Patriots and even tougher for Bill Belichick without Brady on the team. Since the 46-year-old left Boston for Tampa, New England has only won 28 games and lost 36. It’s part of the reason several analysts believe that the 71-year-old’s time in Foxborough will come to an end sooner rather than later.

I don't really like all the flak he [Belichick] has been getting. Because it's on us players to go out there and execute. I feel like the game plan has been phenomenal week in and week out, and we had the opportunities to make the plays, but we did not make them. But we made them tonight. So we are going to correct this team.Jabrill Peppers said.
The 28-year-old contributed three successful tackles—two of which were assisted—for the club. The moment he intercepted Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky—who was being pushed by Kyle Dugger—on a pass meant for Pat Freiermuth was his game highlight. Peppers went 32 yards to return the pick to the Pittsburgh 11-yard line.
Moreover, it was another remarkable defensive performance from Belichick’s team. Despite the down year in offense, the Patriots are ranked 8th in defensive yards allowed (310.5). The Steelers were only limited to 264 on the night. Next, they welcome the Kansas City Chiefs at home in Boston Bay.
