Shannon Sharpe is rooting for the Dallas Cowboys to win for the first time in his career.
The Dallas Cowboys will face off against the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday. The game is a much-anticipated one, as the biggest question is if quarterback Cooper Rush will be able to continue his winning streak in the absence of Dak Prescott. Ever since Dak was out after the Week 1 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after he suffered a thumb injury, Rush has been the starter and has not lost a single game.
This week, the team plays against a struggling Los Angeles Rams, who have made it evident that they are still recovering from the Super Bowl hangover and if this is how they continue to play, they are guaranteed to not be in this year’s finals. In light of this, Fox Sports analyst Shannon Sharpe made his picks ahead of the game and his preference may catch you a bit off-guard.
“They don’t protect Matthew Stafford”: Shannon Sharpe has an issue with the Los Angeles Rams OL’s lackluster style of play.

Shannon Sharpe has been one of the biggest critics of the Dallas Cowboys. He has not kept it a secret that he does not like the organization and the fans, however; he expects the team to win their matchup against the Rams, here is why. “I don’t like anything that this Rams offense is doing against this Cowboys’ defense. They don’t protect Matthew Stafford, the Cowboys have the second-most sacks in the NFL and the Rams have allowed the second-most sacks in the NFL. That’s a bad formula.”
The Rams have struggled to keep their quarterback safe this season and Stafford has found himself in the shoes of Joe Burrow, as neither of the quarterbacks has a solid offensive line to protect them. Sharpe goes on to add, “In 4 games this season, Matthew Stafford leads the NFL in interceptions, that’s a recipe for a 14 or 17-point win for the Cowboys if Dak Prescott were playing.”
Though the Rams have a force of nature in Aaron Donald, Shannon believes he cannot do it all. “Aaron Donald can only do so much, but has the Rams’ defense been better than the Cowboys’ defense so far this year? No, you see the Rams’ offensive line? Stafford gets hit constantly, he turns the ball over constantly.”
Shannon does believe that Cooper Rush has to just do his thing, and they can win the game against LA. “Cooper Rush can do what Cooper Rush has been doing in all 4 of his starts. He does not have to do much. The Rams have been averaging 17 points so far. I say they (Dallas Cowboys) beat the Rams 20-17.”
The Rams have been terrible this season and seem to be struggling, that Cooper Kupp and Matt Stafford connection is no longer special. Teams now have figured out a way to shut him out and defend him better. Though Stafford has better wideouts such as Allen Robinson, he seems allergic to even pretend to throw the ball in his direction.
