There was a lot of speculation around Justin Fields and whether the Chicago Bears will be willing to trade the 2023 NFL Draft No.1 pick for him. However, the Bears have decided to keep Justin Fields and have traded the No.1 pick to the Carolina Panthers for the 2024 first-round pick, two future second-round picks, and wide receiver D. J. Moore.

This is a clear indication that the Chicago Bears are placing full trust in quarterback Justin Fields and want to build a team around him. Fields now has a quality wide receiver in the form of D. J. Moore and this will definitely leverage his performance going into year three.

And while some still believe that it won’t make much of a difference, many are of the opinion that this might take Fields to the level of Jalen Hurts and were praising general manager Ryan Poles for this decision.

NFL analyst Marcus Spears was all praise for Justin Fields while speaking on NFL Live saying Fields has the quality to become an elite quarterback. He said Justin Fields has the capabilities to win games for any franchise and you can build an entire team around him.

We’ve all kind of agreed on this show that Justin Fields is a guy that you can not only build around, but a guy that can win games for you and be elite at the position based on all of his necessary tools,” Spears said.

And then you think about Justin Fields sitting at home during this time. Because all of these young quarterback get an idea of what their franchise thinks about them as well, by the moves that they make. Now, obviously, we want to see some offensive linemen come through for the Chicago Bears, but to go out and get a weapon in a position of need. We saw the trade for Chase Claypool. So they’ve made it clear now that they want to try to get Justin Fields the weapons that he needs in order to take that next step and move further along the line.

Marcus Spears also took a dig at those who didn’t believe in Justin Fields’ quality saying they ‘don’t watch football’ if they are under the impression the quarterback can’t reach the level of someone like Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles.

And I’ma say, and I know this year was a phenomenal year, but if you don’t think that Justin Fields can be Jalen Hurts. You ain’t been watching football. If you don’t think he can turn into that based on the system around him and having the right pieces in place, you are kidding yourself.”

Whether Justin Fields is going to become as impactful as Jalen Hurts or Joe Burrow remains to be seen, but at the moment he has got the receiver he desired for.
