Roman Reigns turned up the ante on Seth Rollins on this week’s Raw by shaming him as the forever number two. ‘The OTC’ mocked ‘The Visionary’ for needing a Money in the Bank briefcase to win a world title after all these years in WWE. Reigns also didn’t miss out on mentioning that Rollins faked an injury in 2025 to use it.

‘The Tribal Chief’ claimed that Rollins couldn’t emerge as WWE’s top star even at a time when his so-called “work daddy” Triple H is running the company. Reigns affirmed that Rollins couldn’t walk in his shoes, and therefore he should acknowledge that the Bloodline leader would always remain superior to him.

Rollins said in his defense that he was proud of his values and glad to not be like Reigns. ‘The Architect’ would then sucker punch his former Shield brother and rained down some haymakers on the world champion. The Chicago Bears superfan managed to recover from a Superman Punch from Reigns, who successfully countered the first attempt at a stomp.

‘The Head of the Table’ ultimately succumbed to a pedigree and the curb stomp in an ending that saw Rollins stand tall over the champion. The latter has finally broken his silence and fired some warning shots at the Iowa native. Reigns noted on social media that it was obvious that someone who couldn’t win a title on his own would punch him.

Reigns reminded his arch-nemesis that he’s responsible for every big moment in Rollins’ WWE career. However, the erstwhile ‘Big Dog’ vowed to close the door on him for once and for all come SummerSlam. The Anoa’i family stalwart told ‘The Visionary’ during their segment on Raw that he would get injured two months into his title reign even if he were to beat Reigns at the Biggest Party of the Summer.

‘The Tribal Chief’ stated that some people aren’t built to withstand the pressure and burden of being the top guy in WWE, and in Reigns’ eyes, Rollins precisely fit the description. The stinging words from Reigns ultimately got to Rollins, who snapped and laid him out.

The fact of the matter is that ‘The OTC’ must overcome Rollins at SummerSlam to remove the dent of ‘The Visionary’ having always had Reigns’ number whenever they fought on bigger occasions.

Their upcoming battle at SummerSlam would be only the third Reigns/Rollins match on a WWE premium live event, and Reigns has yet to register a win over Rollins.

The latter previously pinned the Pensacola-born wrestler at Money in the Bank in 2016 and, six years later, made Reigns lose via disqualification at the Royal Rumble in 2022.

What could possibly go down with Roman Reigns set for SNME appearance at MSG?

Roman Reigns will pull up to Madison Square Garden this weekend for Saturday Night’s Main Event alongside the 2026 NBA Finals MVP, Jalen Brunson. It’s unknown at this point whether it’d lead to something bigger or not.

WWE’s official description for the Reigns/Brunson linkup writes that the two of them will be there for an acknowledgement fit for the world’s most famous arena if that means something.

It’s quite possible that Seth Rollins would show up to checkmate ‘The OTC’ once again, or who knows if Roman Reigns stays prepared this time around. The world heavyweight champion isn’t advertised for next week’s Raw in Detroit and will only appear on the final Raw taping before SummerSlam.

It’d emanate from the Intuit Dome, the same building that hosted the red brand’s debut show on Netflix. With Reigns, in all likelihood, set to be absent from the 07/20 Raw, WWE might want to do another angle between Rollins and Reigns inside MSG at Saturday Night’s Main Event and make the most of ‘The OTC’ appearing again this week.
