The Alabama Crimson Tide are having an undefeated season with their star quarterback Jalen Milroe leading the Heisman trophy race. After scoring an impressive 41-34 victory against the Georgia Bulldogs, they are establishing themselves as a strong contender in NCAAF.
Crimson Tide dominated the field entirely on Saturday, taking a 30-7 lead in the halftime. Milroe finished the game with 27 out of his 33 passes for 374 yards, two touchdowns, and rushing yards of 117 and two touchdowns. Although the second half went slow, the junior quarterback led his team to the victory by scoring a game-winning touchdown in connection with star wide receiver Ryan Williams.
Despite the electrifying performance in the Alabama-Georgia game and being the favorite for the Heisman Trophy with +175 odds, Milroe remained poised while addressing the media. Sporting a Jalen Hurts T-shirt, the Alabama star expressed his admiration for the Philadelphia Eagles’ star quarterback and former Alabama standout. He shared how significantly Hurts has influenced his professional career in college football.
“He was one of the reasons why I came to the University of Alabama,” Milroe told the reporters, via On3 Sports’ Charlie Potter.
If we look back when Alabama played Georgia [in 2018], Jalen Hurts stepped into the game. So I wanted to represent him today.

Before entering the NFL, Hurts was a remarkable college footballer who won the 2017 national championship with Alabama and was in the Heisman Trophy race for three years consecutively.

In the four games this season, Milroe has improved to 62-out-of-85 passes for 964 yards, 10 touchdowns, and one interception. On top of that, he has the fifth-best quarterback rating in the country at 87.6. After Saturday’s game, Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer showered immense praise on the star quarterback, calling him an “exception” player.
He [Jalen Milroe] was, I think, exceptional. I really– I didn’t want to jump the gun, but I just really felt like the last couple weeks– it starts with the Wisconsin game, where he got into a little bit of a rhythm. Made those plays. We still didn’t have enough opportunities, really.

Alabama is now heading for a tough road game against Vanderbilt Commodores, for which they will be traveling to Vanderbilt in week 6 on the upcoming Sunday, followed by a home game against South Carolina in week 7.
