Former World No.1 Martina Navratilova recently took a brutal dig at former US president Donald Trump, this time for no reason in particular. There is no denying the fact that Martina has always been extremely vocal about her feelings on the internet, eliciting a plethora of backlash and criticism from viewers online. Being leaned toward left-wing ideology, she was never a fan of Donald Trump and his ideologies on numerous topics.

The Czech–American tennis ace had spent her childhood in Czechoslovakia and then moved to America. She has now compared Donald Trump’s government to a “possible totalitarian” situation now. She was pointing out that Trump would have changed the Government to a monopoly wherein there will be no opposition.

Taking to her official Twitter handle, the former tennis professional noted, “Growing up in totalitarian Czechoslovakia, voting was useless- there was only one party and one candidate- no choice whatsoever. Am so grateful that we were able to stop a possible totalitarian situation in America. Because here, we do have a choice- let’s make sure we keep it“‘

Martina Navratilova is one of the greatest players of all time and her rivalry with Chris Evert in the 1970s and 1980s took women’s tennis to new levels. She has had a very long professional career and played in four different decades, starting from 1974 to 2006, and won 18 major titles in singles, 31 titles in doubles, and 10 titles in mixed doubles.

Her problems with Trump’s typical mindset are not new. She has often tweeted about her differences in opinions with the ex-president, including various conserving issues like abortion, same-sex relationships/marriage, arms policies, drug use, and many other issues. That’s not all, as per the popular personality herself, life as a lesbian in America is worse compared to that of a lesbian in Europe.

18-time-Grand Slam champion’s anti-republican tweets were not always welcomed by the users throughout her ‘social media’ career, with several fans, followers, and users chiming in to provide their take on the entire matter. This has been more evident in recent times when she was seen continuously taking a brutal dig at the Republican ideas without any particular reason.
