Tennis legend Martina Navratilova is one of the most formidable names in the realm of tennis, racking up thousands of followers on her official social media handles. Her straightforward opinions have often been under criticism on the internet for being very rude and harsh. Despite all criticism and backlash, she does not shy away from actively participating in political debates apart from her involvement in tennis news. With that being said, the former tennis professional recently expressed her views on the US mid-term elections with the insight of a change in the beliefs of the people.
She is one of the inspirational players who has managed to create her own legacy with her numerous accolades and achievements. She does not ever mince her words standing up for a cause she firmly believes in. The former US Open champion has always stood in support of gender equality and rights for the LGBTQ community. And that’s why she has always resorted to her Twitter account to express her unfiltered opinions.
The results of the US mid-terms elections are underway and the Democratic Party is on the way to forming the government in various parts of the country. Navratilova extended her support to the Democratic Party Senator representative Raphael Warnock, who is contesting from the state of Georgia. She even appreciated the efforts of achieving totalitarianism while pointing out the new change.
“I know totalitarianism, I know socialism, I know communism. We have no socialism here,(except for those too big to fail), and we certainly have no communism but man- at this rate we are but 1 election away from having totalitarianism. We prevailed. Let’s keep it going! Go, Raphael:)!” as tweeted by Navratilova on the microblogging site.
Martina Navratilova expressed her disgust for the atrocious behavior toward a biological male teacher
The 18-time Grand Slam champion has always stood against the atrocities against women and transgender individuals. She has firmly revolted against such ideologies in various instances and does not let the guilty go away easily, which can be seen through some of her tweets. Martina Navratilova bashed the school authorities in Ontario for their unjustified and derogatory actions toward a “busty” biological male teacher. She stated that their actions were totally obscene and hurt the sentiments of the community.
Navratilova has never denied her sexual orientation, along with a lot of uncertainty about her nationality and citizenship, which is one of the most discussed topics on major social media platforms. She blamed former US President George W Bush for her to obtain dual citizenship since she had revoked her Czech nationality.
