Now that the dust on WrestleMania XL has settled, The Rock has a message for his fans. Taking it to his Instagram account, the 51-year-old posted a video encapsulating how the worlds converged this past weekend in Philadelphia. It’s one of those addresses where he wasn’t draped in character. Moreover, he ended up confirming that he’d be at WrestleMania 41.
At first, The People’s Champ congratulated Cody Rhodes for finishing the story and becoming the new WWE Champion. He then lauded his cousin Roman Reigns for having held the gold for almost 4 years and said that he was proud of The Tribal Chief. Last but certainly not the least, The Rock named Seth Rollins whom he believes was the MVP of WrestleMania XL.
The Great One mentioned the 12-week-long training camp that propelled him to be on par with the other three men he was in the ring with last Saturday. Fortunately, the Black Adam star didn’t catch any sort of injury but he’s banged up. The real-life Dwayne Johnson alluded to creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the WWE Universe.
And needless to say, the 40th anniversary of WrestleMania was a gargantuan success. Not to forget that it has become the most-streamed entertainment event on Peacock with over 1.3 billion minutes of stream time. This past week’s Raw marked the conclusion of The Rock‘s much-relished run with WWE.
Of course, there’s more to come from The Final Boss but it’s up in the air. He’s set to begin filming for the Mark Kerr-based biopic, The Smashing Machine from May. Not only that but he’s also lined up to reprise his role as Maui in Moana 2.
The Rock to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania next year?
As mentioned above, The Brahma Bull is looking forward to WrestleMania 41. Although the fans hope he’d get to wrestle Roman Reigns in that long-awaited tussle of supremacy between the Samoan stalwarts, there might be something else in the pipeline.
As the Hollywood actor stated on Raw post-WrestleMania XL, he’d be coming back for Cody Rhodes whether he’s a champion until that point or not. More or less, that does mean WWE is hellbent on pitting these two against each other in a singles showdown down the road.
That could be a possibility at this year’s SummerSlam. However, The Rock might not be available on August 3 to compete due to his commitments in Hollywood. As it has been reported recently by Dave Meltzer, the TKO board member might take on The American Nightmare at The Showcase of the Immortals in 2025 rather than his cousin.
