“You quit and ran” – Conor McGregor takes jibe at Khabib Nurmagomedov’s “father’s plan” in deleted tweet after rival celebrates “Dagestani takeover”
Khabib Nurmagomedov and his father (L) targeted by Conor McGregor (R) in recent tweet
Khabib Nurmagomedov was really proud of his team now holding both, UFC and Bellator Gold. In a recent speech, he quoted his rival, Conor McGregor, and said, “We’re here to take over.” The Irishman has responded on Twitter to Nurmagomedov making a subtle diss.
Khabib Nurmagomedov woke the sleeping beast by taking a dig at Irish superstar Conor McGregor in a recent speech. “I hear long time ago when one guy was talking about, ‘We’re here to take over.’ But we [Dagestanis] here to take over,” said the former lightweight champion. This seems to have reignited the tension between him and his rival.
McGregor responded on Twitter by dragging Khabib’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, and claimed “The Eagle” did not make his father’s plans come true. “Father’s plan” is often a phrase that Team Khabib mentions as they dedicate the success in their life to the late coach Abdulmanap. While Khabib seems content with his team’s achievements, McGregor is here to remind him about his premature retirement.
“I fight on! Your fathers plan is never complete because you quit and ran, brother. God bless. I’m still here if you wanna go again. But your fear of defeat means you’ve already lost. Run from it all you want. We all lose in the end. Death takes us all. I fear nothing but God,” said McGregor in a recently deleted tweet.
Many would find it surprising that the Irishman has not started a verbal warfare with his choice of words towards his biggest rivals. This is not the first time McGregor has mentioned Khabib’s father in one of his tweets.
Conor McGregor does not rate Khabib Nurmagomedov’s undefeated career
Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov retired when he was at the top of his amazing career. The Dagestani fighter decided to hang his gloves after going 29-0 in his professional career. The fighter had three UFC title defenses under his belt before he decided it was not right to fight in the absence of his father in 2020.
While many hail the former lightweight champion for going out as an undefeated fighter, his nemesis, The Notorious One does not rate his achievements one bit. In an interview with Stephen A Smith, Conor McGregor slams Nurmagomedov’s career. “His father had the shows set up and he was fighting guys with blatant 2 wins and 8 losses. That’s his record up until he is 20-0,” said a furious McGregor.

McGregor, even after his loss to Nurmagomedov in 2018 was ready to run things back into the octagon for a rematch. The Notorious One has accused of The Eagle of being scared to fight him again on several occasions and is still calling the retired champ for a fight.
