Jan Blachowicz has cemented himself as a perennial championship contender in the UFC’s light heavyweight division – not a very long time ago, he was the champion among his fellow 205-pounders.
Primarily a striker, Blachowicz was also able to stop former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya’s bid to become double champion, when he defeated him on points back in early 2021. However, since then, his fortunes have changed – although he entered his light heavyweight title bout against Glover Teixeira a heavy favourite, he was submitted by the veteran in the second round.
Ahead of his UFC 282 bout against Magomed Ankalaev, Jan Blachowicz seems to be taking it easier to help ease the stress of fighting a feared upcomer. In a video recently put out on the internet, the Polish fighter seems to be letting off some steam in a nightclub, throwing the odd dance move here and there.
Jan Blachowicz faces off with Russian Ankalaev in a title bout eliminator next month – whoever comes on top will most likely be awarded the next title shot against champion Jiri Prochazka or challenger Glover Texeira. Hence, both fighters must be at the top of their games. Going into the fight, Blachowicz finds himself a heavy underdog, according to the UFC website.
