Former UFC Middleweight Champion, Israel Adesanya has teased his rematch with the current champion, Alex Pereira via Twitter in a Saw-inspired trailer. “We don’t keep score, we settle them,” Adesanya said in the spine-chilling trailer.
Alex Pereira vs Israel Adesanya has been scheduled for UFC 287 and will be for the UFC Middleweight Championship. The video trailer for UFC 287 main event is inspired by the movie Saw with the iconic mask featured in the video.
Adesanya’s recent loss to Pereira at UFC 281 has spiced up the activities of the Middleweight division. Since 2019, Israel Adesanya had been on an incredible undefeated middleweight run in the UFC. However, his arch-nemesis from his amateur kickboxing career, Brazilian champion, Alex Pereira continues to haunt Adesanya.
Fans have since reacted to Izzy’s new teaser of the championship rematch and his return after the UFC 281 TKO loss. Adesanya joined the UFC in 2018 and continued to move up in the Middleweight division till his victory against Robert Whittaker at UFC 243 in 2019 for the title. Izzy further successfully defended his title 5 times against Yoel Romero, Marvin Vettori, Paulo Costa, Jared Cannonier, and Robert Whittaker.

Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira’s UFC run has been a short yet sweet treat. Having previously defeated Israel Adesanya twice during his amateur kickboxing career, Pereira became champion by defeating Izzy once again but this time in the UFC.
Pereira’s TKO of Izzy sent a message to the fans that there finally came a fighter who could compete on Adesanya’s level. Pereira (4-0 in the UFC) has won all his fights in the UFC via KO/TKO and has wins over top middleweights like Adesanya and Sean Strickland.

The Brazilian fighter’s old rivalry and victories with Adesanya in amateur kickboxing are what made UFC boss, Dana White reward the Brazilian fighter with a championship fight. To all the fans’ surprise, Pereira won the fight along with the title. Thus, taking the crown that once belonged to Izzy.
Fans have since taken a stance in favor and against Izzy and are anticipating fireworks in the upcoming rematch at UFC 287.
