Drew McIntyre set for a massive push on WWE Smackdown
McIntyre
Drew McIntyre, one of the biggest Superstars of WWE’s Thunderdome Era was drafted to Smackdown during the WWE Draft 2021. After having some of the most exciting moments of his career on Raw, during the last couple of years, Drew McIntyre is finally moving to the Blue brand.
The Scottish Warrior was reportedly moved to the Blue brand due to the lack of babyfaces, whom the Universal Champion Roman Reigns could feud against. It is being rumored that once the Tribal Chief is done with the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar, McIntyre would enter the Universal title scene. Reigns is scheduled to face Lesnar at WWE’s upcoming PPV – Crown Jewel.
In fact, the WWE Draft 2021 will also come into effect after Crown Jewel. McIntyre is also scheduled to be in action at the event. He will challenging Big E for the WWE Championship. The former WWE Champion will be seen challenging for the title, after several weeks. Interestingly, McIntyre held the WWE Championship for a major part of the Thunderdome Era.
Drew McIntyre’s dream run began at Royal Rumble 2020, which he won and went on to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 36. He managed to defeat Lesnar and kick – off his first reign as the WWE Champion. After a successful run, he briefly lost the title to Randy Orton, before winning it back in a couple of weeks.
But since losing it for the second time, McIntyre has failed to recapture it. Drew McIntyre challenged Bobby Lashley on several occasions, but failed to dethrone him every single time. Their final encounter was at WWE Hell in a Cell 2021, where a loss for McIntyre meant that he couldn’t challenge Lashley for the title anymore!
Drew McIntyre will face Big E at Crown Jewel
Thankfully for McIntyre, Big E successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Lashley. As soon as Big E dethroned Lashley, McIntyre made his intentions clear of coming after the New Day member and the WWE Championship.
On the latest episode of WWE Raw, Big E and Drew McIntyre had teamed up to face the Dirty Dawgs. After picking up a dominant win, Big E announced that he was ready to put the title on the line against McIntyre. The two of the biggest babyfaces in the company today are scheduled to collide at WWE Crown Jewel.
WWE Crown Jewel airs live on 21 October, 2021.
