Kevin Owens crossed paths with his former long-time rival, Roman Reigns, during the Survivor Series WarGames match. After a stunner to him, Owens was about to pin the unstoppable Undisputed WWE Universal Champion before Sami Zayn stopped the referee and betrayed his friend to shock the world.

But Owens and Reigns and still not done with each other. The two men are reportedly set to face each other in singles competition at Royal Rumble 2023. But things may change after the backstage heat between both men. Reportedly, Sheamus will replace Owens in the world championship match at Royal Rumble 2023.

In an appearance on After the Bell, Kevin Owens commented on a potential match with Roman Reigns in the next few weeks. In the interview, the former Universal Champion said that their rivalry didn’t get a satisfactory ending. Owens also added that there was unfinished business that needed to be addressed between them. 

“I don’t think much has changed honestly. I think I was pretty well-equipped back then, too, and it just didn’t work out that way for a multitude of reasons. I just think there’s unfinished business. The story’s just not done, and I think a lot of people watching would agree. I would love to be able to recapture that and see what happens when it’s in front of a sold-out arena or sold-out stadium.”

Kevin Owens has his say on the betrayal by Sami Zayn

Kevin Owens was hunted with a low blow from Sami Zayn in the Men’s Survivor Series WarGames match. With the shocking betrayal, Zayn proved his loyalty to the Bloodline and answered a lot of questions. Jey Uso acknowledged the Master Strategist and cleared all his issues with the former Intercontinental Champion. 

The Prizefighter addressed his former friend’s betrayal on After the Bell podcast with Corey Graves. Owens claimed that Zayn’s attack on Owens was not a betrayal. Rather, he called it to help his team but in a messed up way. On Monday Night Raw’s recent edition, both men came face to face against each other.

Owens, on Raw, claimed that he understood Zayn’s betrayal after numerous instances in which he betrayed Zayn as well. Both men then discussed their agony before heading back. With Owens and Zayn trying to cool things down between themselves, it will be interesting to witness WWE’s plans for the two men.
