With Night 2 of WrestleMania likely to be headlined by the undisputed WWE Universal Championship match this year, WWE is reportedly considering the main event of Night 1 and has some options.

WrestleMania is the biggest event of every year, not only for WWE but also for wrestling in general. The show also sells more tickets than the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, or any other big sporting event. The Road to WrestleMania this year has been pretty decent thus far. Match card so far also looks stacked and hype-worthy. As has been customary since 2020, WrestleMania 39 will be a two-night event as well.

Because the show of shows is a two-night event, WWE can present two different main events. WrestleMania 37 featured the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble winners in the main event of both nights. This year, it seems pretty obvious that the winner of the men’s Rumble match will headline Night 2. However, the women’s Rumble winner headlining looks to be in doubt.

In the new issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes is expected to be the main event of night two. However, there is no decision made regarding night one’s main event. Dave also said that Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley is the top favourite as of now.

Meltzer stated further, “There is a push feeling for sponsors and political reasons after men main evented both nights last year. It would be good for a women’s match to headline. And the feeling Flair vs. Ripley is stronger than Bianca Belair vs. Asuka for the spot.” Meltzer also stated that, the rumoured Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs. The Usos is the other favorite to close night one.

The main event for night 2 at the Grandest Stage this year will most likely be Roman Reigns defending his undisputed title against Cody Rhodes. However, WWE might be demented regarding the main event of Night 1 considering the ongoing storylines. Nevertheless, there are seemingly two choices for WWE to go with.

On one hand, there is Sami Zayn, who has seen a meteoric rise in his career since last year. Sami is also more over with fans than he has ever been on the WWE main roster. Zayn is rumoured to team up with Kevin Owens for a tag team encounter against The Usos for the undisputed tag team championship. Many fans believe that Sami deserves to headline WrestleMania, regardless of the match he is having.

On the other hand, there is 2023 women’s Royal Rumble winner, Rhea Ripley. Ripley is currently considered the hottest act in all of women’s wrestling. Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley for the SmackDown women’s championship sounds like a strong main event considering the history and current scenario. Nonetheless, fans would not be mad at either of the two choices.
