In 2021, Nia Jax became an internet sensation when she made a hilarious remark that was caught on camera. Now, the former WWE superstar herself has revealed that the internet meme was soon going to turn into something bigger in the company.

On the February 8th, 2021, episode of Monday Night Raw, Nia Jax wrestled against Lana in the Thunderdome. During the match, Jax missed a leg drop on her opponent, landing hard on the apron. This prompted her to yell “my hole” which sent everyone in stitches. The former Raw women’s champion recently appeared on K&S WrestleFest Virtual Signing and told the story behind the infamous incident.

Nia Jax said, “We have a lot more freedom during the COVID era and I had discussed it actually with Triple H before when we were rehearsing the match and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, you want me to do a leg drop on the apron?’ And I was like, ‘My freaking butthole’s gonna…’ So it was more of a joke to pop Hunter and Vince (McMahon) in Gorilla. It was literally more to make them laugh. So when I did it, that was the intention and then when I got backstage and saw that everybody was texting me about ‘my hole’ trending, that’s not what my intention was.”

The former WWE superstar even disclosed that it was going to be more than just an internet meme. According to Nia Jax, a “my hole” T-shirt was already in production after she spoke with the head of the merchandise department. However, it never came to fruition, as somebody might’ve declined the idea of the joke turning into a gimmick.
