Pat McAfee reveals staggering behind-the-scenes moments about Vince McMahon and how he adapted his inquisitive approach in WWE

Pat McAfee has made himself quite a popular name in WWE. He had previously worked in the NFL and later in the NXT. He is an exceptional commentator and a great in ring talent. Last year, McAfee interviewed the Chairman of WWE, Vince McMahon, on “The Pat McAfee Show”. He recently shared his approach to interviewing the chairman of the company.
Currently, Pat McAfee has been away from WWE television since Royal Rumble. He was a good co-commentator alongside Michael Cole on SmackDown. McAfee had a match last year at Wrestlemania 38 against Vince McMahon. The former WWE Chairman appeared on his show for an interview ahead of the event.
While speaking with Jimmy Traina on the SI Media Podcast, Pat Mcafee explained how he successfully held the interview. McAfee was asked if he was nervous while interviewing a personality like Vince McMahon. He denied it and said that he had been a huge WWE fan since childhood.
The former football punter said that he learnt more about the business during his time in WWE as a commentator. McAfee further stated that he’s quite a straightforward person and asked Vince directly about anything he wanted to know. He further praised the former WWE Chairman for his genuineness and for accepting him as he is.
He said Mr McMahon was respectful throughout the interview and answered his questions with great enthusiasm. Vince appears to be a natural instructor and knows his way around the business very well. McAfee explains that, as an interviewer, one should talk to the other person as a normal human. Not making someone uncomfortable is the key to a good interview.
McAfee described the interview as kind of unexpected. He never knew Vince was actually coming. And the fact that Vince came in without security and sat in on his interview for over an hour, shows his class. Pat was more pumped than nervous because he knew Vince doesn’t talk to many people. Such an opportunity was once in a lifetime for him.

Pat McAfee’s net worth is a whopping $35 million and he has become a household name for the WWE Universe. He had earlier proven his worth in NXT as well as on the WWE main roster. Currently, he is off TV due to his recent announcement of becoming a father. Therefore, he is current away from WWE programming.
According to rumors, WWE is planning a match for Pat McAfee at SummerSlam 2023. Moreover, some sources suggest that his return to WWE TV will come sooner than expected. Pat’s WWE contract will expire in 2024, and he is expected to renew it. The WWE Universe will wait to see when Pat returns, as they thoroughly enjoy his presence.
