Rhea Ripley made her choice and picked Charlotte Flair as her WrestleMania opponent this week on Raw. After delivering a never-seen-before like performance on Saturday in the Women’s Royal Rumble match, the Australian wrestler is growing in confidence. The story writes for itself to be honest. Many fans were expecting Ripley to choose Bianca Belair, however, her past with The Queen suggests picking her was the absolutely correct decision.
Since WWE made this bout official, they’ve garnered positive response from the fans. Not only them, but also the WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has too shared his thoughts over that epic clash on his To Be The Man podcast. Getting candid about the involved women and their evenly matched stature, Ric implied that Rhea vs. Charlotte is going to be spectacular. Keeping in view their last meeting, The Nature Boy commended The Eradicator for maturing this much.
Also, lauding her own daughter Charlotte, the WWE legend asserted how The Queen’s just about getting in her groove. This falls in line with the fentabulous crowd reception for Charlotte since she returned as a babyface on SmackDown. Concluding his note, The Dirtiest Player in this Business foresaw their forthcoming battle at Showcase of the Immortals as a blockbuster and hoped that they’re allowed to main-event either night of the show.
“It’s gonna be spectacular. Rhea just matured so much. I mean, God, that match they had in front of no people a couple years ago was fantastic. I can only imagine. I mean, The Queen has just gotten herself into. She’s in a place, she’s just plain and simply the best worker in the business in the company. And I’m sure that she and Rhea will tear the joint down. If I were the guy, I wouldn’t want to follow them. And I would hope that they’d be on last.”

Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley faced each other at WrestleMania 36
As mentioned by Ric Flair during his podcast, Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair fought over the NXT Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36. Ironically enough, that match was held behind closed doors in front of zero audience. In an initiative to present their NXT talent in the biggest way possible, WWE wanted the NXT Women’s Title to get defended at The Show of Shows. However, some uncontrollable circumstances forced everything to change and it turned out differently.
Despite performing in front of empty chairs, both Ripley and Flair put forward a wrestling clinic. As expected, they brought out the A-Game from each other, fighting till the last breath. After going through a series of unforgiving maneuvers, then NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley lost to Flair. Regardless of the setback, the Eradicator of The Judgment Day shined well enough.
And now, it’s time to get some redemption for Ripley. Times have changed and so is the wrestling chip installed inside Dominik Mysterio’s Mami. These years in between have certainly taught some lessons to the 2023 Women’s Rumble winner to handle pressure and perform incredibly well under that. Time will narrate if the fortunes turn this year for the 26-year old.
