When everyone was cavorting in rhapsody over CM Punk‘s WWE return at Survivor Series, a wounded warrior threw verbal daggers at him. Yes, it’s Seth Rollins. Whatever lit a fire inside his soul made The Visionary finally break the ice at last night’s live event in Peoria. First, he successfully retained his World Heavyweight title in a triple threat match against Drew McIntyre and Shinsuke Nakamura.
Rollins took the mic on “The Talk of the Town” and refused to glorify Saturday night’s events, choosing not to engage with someone who criticized WWE. Instead, he focused on acknowledging the fans and the people who have made WWE successful. Interestingly, the crowd did not boo Seth during his remarks about Punk.

It could be a premonition about what’s to come in the immediate future. There’s been a lot of history between Seth Rollins and CM Punk. Neither of the two can stand each other. Moreover, Rollins even called Punk a cancer for the locker room a few months ago. Back in 2019, when Punk debuted on WWE Backstage, Rollins publicly expressed his desire to fight him.
I'm not gonna waste any more breath on somebody who's been gone for 8 years and has done nothing but try to tear this place down.Seth Rollins on CM Punk via WWE live event
However, things didn’t just materialize. About four years after that, these two men will find themselves in the same building. Initial reports indicated that Rollins was visibly upset that WWE brought Punk back. Backstage, Triple H and Michael Cole reportedly ushered away The Architect, as he was dissatisfied after what happened. However, given the master Seth is, it could all be just work.
Are Seth Rollins and CM Punk destined to clash at WrestleMania 40?
For anyone who witnessed the conclusion to the Survivor Series, Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk is the obvious direction WWE will be going in the long run. They could have Rollins interrupt Punk when the latter appears live on tonight’s Raw, as the appearance has been made official.

For all the money involved, their feud appears to be nothing short of a WrestleMania main event. Nonetheless, remember that one of the biggest complaints CM Punk had when he quit WWE in 2014 was that he never got to headline the pop-culture extravaganza.
However, all the stars are aligning perfectly for his highly anticipated showdown against Seth Rollins, and it could possibly be at WrestleMania 40. Tonight’s Raw will give a much clearer picture of what fans should expect in the near future.
