WWE is considering “bringing back” Randy Orton in WrestleMania week
A recent report suggests that The Apex Predator is travelling to Los Angeles for WrestleMania. However, the specific details still remain blurred.
Randy Orton might return at WrestleMania
Randy Orton has been out of action from WWE for almost a year now. It is a rare occurrence that The Viper misses out on WrestleMania. While it seemed like this would be one of those years, a recent report suggests the contrary, which brings some relief to the WWE Universe.
According to PWInsider, Randy Orton will travel to Los Angeles for WrestleMania 39. Thus, it seems WWE is planning something with the Apex Predator that week. However, the report doesn’t clarify whether Orton will be seen on screen or not. Moreover, it also notes that rather than the Grandest Stage of Them All, The Viper’s return could also be on the night after, on Monday Night Raw.
A few days ago, PWInsider also reported that there were “rumblings” backstage in WWE related to Randy Orton. At the time, the nature of these rumblings was uncertain and vague. However, it was still a big difference from the past few months, when there was not even a single mention of the 14-time World Champion in the company.
Randy Orton last wrestled in the ring in May 2022, tagging alongside his RK-bro partner, Matt Riddle. The then Raw Tag Team Champions lost their titles to The Usos in a Unification match on SmackDown. After that, the 42-year-old veteran took time off due to back issues, for which he underwent fusion surgery. The injury was seemingly more severe than anyone anticipated, hence Orton’s extended absence from the company.

Who could Randy Orton face following WrestleMania?
As the PWI report suggests, Randy Orton’s travel to LA might be for the Raw after WrestleMania, but he might also have post-mania plans. Last year, it was reported that the plans for RK-Bro were to break apart following the title loss. This would’ve resulted in a feud between Randy Orton and Matt Riddle, culminating at the Show of Shows. As the Original Bro is also available for a return after completing his rehab, this story can continue if both of them make their returns soon.
A more exciting prospect for Randy Orton’s return would be to challenge for the top title after WrestleMania. Many fans expect Cody Rhodes to walk out of SoFi Stadium as the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Moreover, some reports also suggest that Roman Reigns will take significant time off after the Showcase of the Immortals. In the meantime, who better to step up as the new challenger for Rhodes than his former mentor in The Legacy, Randy Orton? Hence, there are options galore for the 14-time world champion if he does make his return.
