In Short
  • Dianna Russini did not name her first son after Mike Vrabel, but rather after her brother.
  • The rumors about the son's lineage intensified after photos of Russini and Vrabel surfaced.
  • Stephen A. Smith defended Vrabel, arguing personal life decisions should not affect his coaching position.

Even though Mike Vrabel is trying his best to avoid the media scrutiny around him and his family after pictures of him cheating with Dianna Russini came to light, the situation is only getting worse.

Many believe the duo could have put an end to this when the first set of photos was published. But at the time, they apparently coordinated with each other to publish statements ‘laughing off’ those allegations.

But if The New York Times thought those pictures were enough to launch an investigation into an alleged breach of ethics from their lead NFL Insider, then there was something serious enough for them to do so.

When Russini quit her job, it made matters worse. Now, people thought that had she been innocent, the 43-year-old would not have done so.

Since then, more pictures have come to the fore, and eventually, Mike Vrabel had to take accountability for his actions. Russini was out of the spotlight.

Rumors began to surface alleging that the timeline of their relationship could point to the New England Patriots head coach possibly being the father of Russini’s first son, who happens to be named Michael.

The NFL reporter did NOT name her first son after the coach, TMZ Sports has learned… We’re told the ex-Athletic insider picked the name early in her pregnancy to honor her older brother, Michael Russini. The kid’s middle name also pays tribute to another family member.

TMZ revealed

Their investigation revealed that even Dianna Russini‘s second son was named after her grandfather. Therefore, those rumors can now firmly be put to rest.

Footage emerges of a pregnant Dianna Russini spending time with Mike Vrabel on a boat

TMZ came out with this revelation just in time, after rumors about Dianna Russini’s second son’s lineage were heightened by photos of her spending time with Mike Vrabel in 2021.

That was just weeks before she gave birth to Michael, and fans felt this was the 50-year-old coach being with his mistress to support her. Soon after, a video came to light providing more proof of that encounter.

The video shows the now-former Athletic reporter and the three-time Super Bowl-winning linebacker walking down the pier to their chartered boat.

As Russini turns around, it is clear that she is visibly pregnant with her second son. They then reach the end of the pier and wait for their boat to arrive.

Usually, tabloids do not follow a sports personality or two as much as they are now. Such investigations are generally left to celebrities.

This points to the possibility of the private investigator strategically releasing all the videos he or she has held in storage for so long. If so, then the allegations of Dianna Russini’s husband, Kevin Goldschmidt, being involved could very well be a possibility.

Stephen A. Smith slams those demanding Mike Vrabel quit his job

Since more and more proof is appearing now and then, the pressure is piling on Mike Vrabel to quit his job as the head coach of the New England Patriots, a suggestion that has irked Stephen A. Smith.

If making the right decisions involving our personal lives all the time was the criteria for us to be gainfully employed, most of us would be gainfully employed… What am I saying is, there is nothing about what is alleged to have happened and the noise reverberating from those allegations that warrants anybody saying this man should not be the head coach of the New England Patriots.

Stephen A. Smith said

The analyst cannot speak his mind on ESPN, therefore took to his namesake podcast to talk about this. Smith pointed out that there is no basis for such demands, simply because it is evident that Vrabel was doing a good job despite being in this relationship.

If the father of two could do a good job with the Tennessee Titans and now with the New England Patriots despite this supposed distraction, then Smith believes there is no reason to be fired. That argument would only have been valid if his team had underperformed, like in Sherrone Moore‘s case.
