The competitive FPS game genre has recently seen the entry of Valorant, which has gained immense popularity. The game mechanics show a lot of originality. Furthermore, the cosmetics market of the game has an excessively large market. Developers at Riot Games have put a lot of effort into the game since its launch. And in a Dev Diary—a series of videos where Riot Games developers share insights into the development of their games—devs have revealed quite a lot, with even a TDM mode called HURM coming in the future.
Valorant has long teased the idea of a new TDM game mode at the start of 2023. Although Valorant released the ‘Swiftmode’ as its latest game mode, it has teased another mode, which is on its way. In its recent Dev Diaries from Riot Games, devs have expressed their thanks for players showing their love for Swiftmode and the Premier Open Beta. And with the appreciation, devs have revealed their what the next new mode would contain in the game.
Devs at Riot Games have called the next upcoming game mode as HURM, a team deathmatch. Team Deathmatch is vastly different from the standard existing free-for-all deathmatch in the game. Consider every other player on the map, apart from yourself, as an enemy in the usual free-for-all matches. However, Team Deathmatch, as the name suggests, would place players in teams where they’ll fight out another team while utilizing their own teamwork.
Devs have promised players that the new Team Deathmatch game mode would land as soon as Episode 7 of Valorant kicks off. Loads of new and exciting features would fill this new game mode. The community has been eagerly awaiting this game mode, and we are about to fulfill their wishes.

Team Deathmatch Game Mode HURM: Features, release date & more
The upcoming game mode would be called HURM and would be a team deathmatch mode. Moreover, this is the first time Valorant would get this game mode. Not only would it be good for warming up before ranked plays, but also would act as a testing ground for new unlocked Agents. How? Well, unlike the classic free-for-all existing deathmatch mode in-game, HURM would feature a match with tactical gun gameplay— with the inclusion of abilities.
Furthermore, this new game mode would have maps specially tailored for this match format. Devs, in their recent Valorant Dev Diaries, have revealed the release date for this mode. Riot Games will release this mode on June 27, 2023, with the commencement of Episode 7. This game mode would also have ‘custom maps.’ This would feature maps specifically made for this game mode. This would give players a break from the regular maps featured in Ranked/Unrated plays.
Players’ reactions to this news have been cheerful, with some celebrating the upcoming HURM game mode while some are asking for the long-awaited ‘Replay’ feature and some being happy with the ‘custom maps’ feature:
AB TIME WE GET DIFFERENT MAPS FOR GAMEMODES… just do that for deathmatch and we’ll be peachy ???? Titanfall 2 paved the way for all these games, and yet some don’t take advantage yk ??♂️
