Max Verstappen has been absolutely dominant in the 2022 F1 season after bagging 15 wins out of the 22 races that took place during the season. However. when you think about it, the difference in the Dutchman’s first world championship and his second one was pretty substantial. After competing with two vastly different rivals, the Red Bull Racing driver had a few thoughts to share.

Max Verstappen took on 7 time world champion Lewis Hamilton during his first title fight where he prevailed and finally became world champion after joining the sport back in 2015. It was obvious that there was an intense rivalry shared between Lewis and Max as their wheel to wheel battles brought shivers among their respective fanbases. It was clear that the Dutchman was the righteous competitor for statistically the greatest driver of all time.

Although when compared to Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen’s title charge seemed a bit too easy. Maybe that is because he made it look that way. Charles however couldn’t replicate the fierceness and silence that Lewis held. After every session, Charles and Max would meet and discuss and laugh around a bit about how it went. Meanwhile, parc ferme was a warzone for Lewis and Max.

During a press conference before the FIA prize giving ceremony, this is what the Dutchman had to say. Everyone is different in the way that they battle and race, but that’s the beautiful thing about the sport, because if everybody was the same then it would be pretty boring,” he said. Max Verstappen further went on to explain more on the topic at hand.

“Yes, you have a lot of good drivers but if they all act exactly the same it’s not really exciting to watch. So that’s why I think we all have to appreciate the enormous amount of talent we have in the world and especially of course also in Formula 1.” he continued.

Formula 1 has had a fresh new blend of talent who have managed to stick it to the old schoolers which include Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel. With drivers like Max Verstappen, George Russell, Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris leading the new gen of world champions, it’s easy to say that the future is bright for the pinnacle of motorsport.
