Manchester City Premier League Fixtures and Schedule for 2021-22
Manchester City Premier League Fixtures and Schedule for 2021-22
Champions of the 2020 season, Manchester City will begin their title defence for the 2021-22 Premier League season with a blockbuster fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, 14th August, as Pep Guardiola’s side will be looking to secure their first win at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. City’s opening game is one of the marquee matches to follow on Gameweek 1, alongside the ‘Roses Derby’, where city rivals Manchester United travel to Elland road to face Leeds.
Following that, Manchester City will be hosting newly-promoted side Norwich City at home in seven days, before they see out the month with a heavyweight clash at home against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
Manchester City’s key fixtures for 2021-22 Premier League season
City will be facing a tough task in September, as they start with a trip to King Power to face FA Champions Leicester City, who they will also be facing in the Community Shield at Wembley on 7th August, before kicking off with the Premier League season. Following the fixture with the Foxes, Pep’s side will host Southampton at home and then conclude the month with a trip to Stamford Bridge to face European Champions Chelsea, looking to exact a revenge on Tuchel’s side who trounced them at Porto to clinch the 2020-21 Champions League title.
One of the biggest fixtures for Pep’s side will be the October 2 face-off against Klopp’s Liverpool, with the mouth watering Manchester derby date scheduled on 6th November at Old Trafford, as Guardiola would be desperate for a win after being unable to defeat Ole Gunnar’s United in the previous season.
City’s December looks quite favourable, with fixtures seemingly easy against Watford, Wolves, Leeds United and Newcastle United, before they end the year facing Leicester on Boxing Day. Manchester City’s new year begins win a trip to The Emirates on New Year’s Day to face Arsenal, and will be hosting Chelsea 14 days later, two games which could be crucial ones in their title defence.
They face Manchester United again in the return leg on 5th of March, with a crucial face-off against Liverpool scheduled for April 9. Pep’s fixtures for May are tricky ones as they face Newcastle United on 7th May, West Ham on 15th and conclude their season with a home game against Aston Villa on 22nd May.
