The reigning world champion Max Verstappen was asked about his rival Lewis Hamilton’s 7 world title wins to which the Dutchman replied that a bit of luck is needed to fight for that or have to be with the dominant team. Max Verstappen went on to say that one always won’t have that kind of luck or may not be in the right era and sometimes wins like it doesn’t happen. Max Verstappen added that he always wanted to win the title and see where you go from there and said everything’s that comes now is a bonus.

You need a bit of luck to fight for that. You need a very dominant team as well. You don’t always have that luck or you’re not in that era. Sometimes it doesn’t happen,” Max Verstappen said.

For me, I always wanted to win one and see where you go from there. Everything that comes now is a bonus,” Max Verstappen added.

Christian Horner insisted that Max Verstappen deserved the title listing out his 2021 accolades such as leading more than 50 percent of the laps, more than every other driver combined, more pole positions, more race wins.

Dietrich (Mateschitz) felt Max was very deserving. He was very proud of what he’d done and what the team had achieved, says Christian Horner.

There was so much controversy but also so much bad luck that these things tend to balance themselves out,” Christian Horner said.

Yes, we got a little bit lucky with the safety car at the end of the race, but so much bad luck had gone against us throughout the season. I think Max led more than 50 percent of the laps, more than every other driver combined. He had more pole positions, more race wins, and for me he was totally deserving,” Christian Horner added.
