IPL 2020 set to begin from 19th September in UAE

There is absolutely no doubt what hype IPL has created ever since the start date has been announced. The postponement of the ICC World Cup T20 had already dejected the cricket fans all over the world. However, the only thing keeping the spirits high is the IPL Bonanza. Prior to this pandemic, the auction for this year’s IPL had already happened in the last month of 2019. As, squads were already set beforehand.

All the teams were looking to iron out a few infirmities, which had haunted them in the previous season. While some teams did this fantastically, on the contrary, others failed to pick up ideal players for the particular role. IPL has always been a tournament where one team looks to exploit the weakness of their rivals.

A significant and similar strategy could be seen by the majority of teams, as they retained their top players. A special mention to the highest-paid foreigner in the tournament’s history, Pat Cummins with Rs. 15.5 Cr.

IPL is supposed to start from the 19th of September in the United Arab Emirates. It would be staged in 3 cities, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. Many international superstars like, Glenn Maxwell would be playing for a new franchise. Having said all that, this year’s IPL franchises didn’t had huge amounts to spend or to strengthen their squad, but to find the missing surge, in order to lift the silverware.
