A big disappointment came in for the Daniel Jones-led New York Giants in week 3 of league football. After the much-needed win against the Arizona Cardinals, the team was thought to have a good comeback in the 2023-24 season. However, their hopes were shattered as the team got thrashed in the hands of the San Francisco 49ers by a margin of 30-12. A poor offensive display by the team and a brilliant defensive display by the 49ers accumulated in the final result.
The Giants had a poor start to the season after they lost against the Dallas Cowboys. The Dak Prescott-led side had their numbers so much that they failed to clinch any point. After their shambolic defeat, the team garnered some hope when they defeated the Cardinals. At the end of the first two weeks, the team had a mixed 1-1 result. But things took a different turn as they entered their third week.
The game between the 49ers and the Giants registered some interesting records. The 49ers became the third team to have a 3-0 winning start in the NFL season. They also scored thirty points in three consecutive games, which also is a record. Before the 49ers, only the New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers registered 3-0 winning starts in 2007 and 1936 NFL seasons, respectively.
Furthermore, the running back for the 49ers Christian McCaffrey scored a touchdown in a consecutive 12th game and touched the record of the Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice. The latter achieved the same numbers in the 1987 season. This season, the 49ers are showing great offensive display and the match against the Giants was no exception.
Fans questioned Daniel Jones on social media for poor outing against 49ers
The game between the 49ers and the Giants would be remembered for a lot of things. There were some brilliant moments of football and, on the other hand, some poor shows as well. After the game, Twitter (now called as X) was flooded with negative tweets and chants against Daniel Jones, the quarterback for the Giants, who had an abysmal outing against the 49ers. The QB had a poor game as he only covered 137 passing yards and completed 22 of his 32 passes.

Daniel Jones signed a humongous $160 million contract this season. The fans started asking questions based on his value. People started pointing fingers at his credibility of whether he is capable of getting the entire amount after such performances.
The Giants will be facing the Seattle Seahawks next week.
