In Short
  • Roman Reigns will address Jacob Fatu's challenge for a World Heavyweight Title match on tonight's Raw.
  • Reigns is confirmed to appear at the Night of Champions PLE in Saudi Arabia on June 27.
  • WWE is building towards a potential showdown between Roman Reigns and Oba Femi later this year.

Roman Reigns will be on tonight’s Raw in Laredo to address Jacob Fatu‘s challenge for a World Heavyweight Title match at Backlash slated for May 9. ‘The OTC’ is all but confirmed to be wrestling Fatu in a first-time-ever clash in Tampa. Reigns is, in fact, the cover star for the official Backlash poster that’s been released by WWE.

In some more good news for his fans, Reigns is now confirmed to be at the Night of Champions PLE as well. WWE announced this past week that it’ll indeed return to Saudi Arabia on June 27 for the aforementioned premium live event. The company has now released the official poster for NOC, where several top stars are featured.

As one could see below, Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes are showcased as the two biggest company attractions. The likes of Oba Femi and Trick Williams, who have taken the WWE Universe by storm in recent months, are among the most celebrated aspects about the Night of Champions poster.

Several top female stars like Rhea Ripley, Becky Lynch, and Liv Morgan have made the cut as well. Speaking of what it could mean for Reigns, the fans should expect him to be involved in a major match that night. While this is only his second confirmed PLE appearance since WrestleMania 42, he’s expected to work a lot more of these shows.

The Anoa’i family stalwart asserted on the Mania post-show that he’s going to fix all that part-timer fuss about him. Reigns outright stated that he’s going to be around all summer. It appeared to many that he’d be wrestling on every major PLE to build for that inevitable showdown with Oba Femi, which could realistically main event the second night of this year’s SummerSlam.

WWE could continue building Femi as the biggest deal about its programming, and a King of the Ring crown might suit him well. Should the Nigerian wrestler pull it off, it’d make him entitled to a world title shot at SummerSlam based on how WWE has treated the King and Queen of the Ring concept under the Triple H regime.

It’d be a no-brainer for WWE to let Oba Femi dethrone Roman Reigns for the title given how massively popular ‘The Ruler’ has become in such a short span of time on the main roster. Femi just recently destroyed Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania under 5 minutes. It prompted The Beast’s WWE retirement, which is still debatable within the company.

What could Roman Reigns say to Jacob Fatu on this week’s Raw?

Roman Reigns gave Jacob Fatu a week’s notice to reconsider his challenge to ‘The OTC’. Reigns even asked The Usos to talk some sense into Fatu in the meantime. Usos journeyed to SmackDown last Friday as the messengers of Reigns, but Fatu didn’t buy it. While Jimmy Uso asked ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ to join their family, Jey Uso stated it was too late for that.

‘The Yeet Master’ told Fatu to prepare for war against Roman Reigns if he wanted to earn his respect. The former NWA Champion also defeated his former mentor Solo Sikoa later that night and also destroyed the rest of the MFTs singlehandedly. Fatu sent a message to Reigns via the Usos by making them watch his annihilation of Sikoa and his MFT goons.

This reluctance of Fatu will surely not sit well with Reigns. The latter might even add a condition to their yet-to-be-made official title match at Backlash: should Fatu lose, he’d have to fall in line and acknowledge ‘The Tribal Chief’. The fans are definitely looking forward to the potential twists and turns in this renewed Bloodline saga.
