Danill Medvedev loves to play on hard courts. It is evident from his performances on the surface. He made it to the final of the US Open twice and the Australian Open once in his career. But he can be really cranky if the hard court is not according to his liking.
Throughout the Indian Wells Open, he kept on complaining about the hard court surface. According to him, it was quite slow. However, he did manage to reach the final of this Masters tournament. But he could not win the final against Carlos Alcaraz.
So, this time around when he won the Miami Open, he did not forget to express his gratitude for the people who readied the courts in Miami. He was particularly very impressed with the hard courts designed for the tournament. He also thanked Miami Open tournament director James Blake for this.
