Conor McGregor is disgusted by Kelvin Gastelum’s recent mouth injury. The UFC middleweight, after pulling out of his main event fight, shared some graphic images of his injury. The fighter’s mouth injury pictures and video have caught the attention of The Notorious One, who has torched the fighter.
Kelvin Gastelum was excited to return to the octagon at UFC Vegas 67. Just a week out from the fight, the fighter has a serious mouth injury which has forced him to pull out. Following the images of Gastelum’s mouth injury, Conor McGregor is furious at the middleweight for attempting to enter the octagon with a staph infection.
McGregor wrote in a deleted social post, “absolute scruff this thing is. that’s full on staph infection all over his f***ing face. A full fucking hole omg and it’s his second time to attempt to enter a competition like this.” The Irishman is appalled by the middleweight fighter’s cleanliness after taking a look at his mouth injury.
Staph infection is common among MMA fighters. This infection is caused by bacteria that is passed through contact. “wtf! clean your mats. wash yourself. f***ing go to the doctor! Scruff,” added McGregor in his deleted Instagram story.
This is not the first time Gastelum has been noticed with “gross” protrusion from his skin. Back in 2019, Kelvin Gastelum was bashed by the MMA community for turning up to fight with what appeared to be a staph infection.

Kelvin Gastelum responds to Conor McGregor’s advice
Conor McGregor’s choice of words to address Gastelum’s staph on his face did not sit well with the middleweight. Gastelum, who is very active on Twitter, responded to McGregor’s comments. “Relax u lil leprechaun. The coke and steroids are kicking in,” wrote Gastelum in his tweet.

Gastelum might have not appreciated the Irishman’s hostility but staph infection is something that needs extensive care. Fighters are often urged to clean themselves regularly after a training session. Gyms should also prioritize cleaning the training mats to reduce the chances of fighter catching this infection.
McGregor is now recovering from his leg injury. The Notorious One has shown great recovery and is almost ready to step into the octagon and put on a show for the fans. As far as Gastelum, the fighter has one win in his last six fights. With five losses and three canceled bouts, a serious injury is the last thing Gastelum would be hoping for.
