WWE officially announces the next step in Bloodline’s story for this week’s SmackDown
Sami Zayn made his choice on Saturday to side with Kevin Owens and suffered a beatdown from the Bloodline. WWE has announced when the next chapter of the story will unfold.
Sami Zayn betrays Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble 2023
Sami Zayn in the Bloodline has become one of the hottest acts in pro wrestling in the last few months. The teases of betrayal finally paid off this past Saturday at the Royal Rumble event. The Honorary Uce had hell to pay as he decided to stand up for his best friend, Kevin Owens, and attacked Roman Reigns. Consequently, Zayn suffered a brutal beating at the hands of the Bloodline to close out the show.
The WWE Universe finally gets a confirmation when they will see the next chapter of this story. In a promo teaser for Friday Night SmackDown, WWE announced that a new chapter will be added to this story as Sami Zayn’s run with the Bloodline “comes to an end.” Yesterday on Raw, the commentators Kevin Patrick and Corey Graves gave a tease for the segment as well, calling it “The Rivalry of the Generation.”
There is some weight to the bold claims made by the Raw commentators, as this story has transcended the pro-wrestling bubble. The wrestling fans were sharing the heart-wrenching moment with their friends and family. This was the reason the segment garnered more than 20 million views in 24 hours across all social media platforms, as reported by Wrestle Ops.
Sami Zayn and the bloodline became a prime example of storytelling reaching out to everyone around the world. Another intriguing question that leaves fans excited for Friday is: what will be the fate of Jey Uso? The “Main Event” Jey refused to be part of Sami Zayn’s beatdown and walked out on his brothers. It would be interesting to see which side Jey picks as the story progresses.
Roman Reigns will face Sami Zayn at Elimination Chamber
Reportedly, the current plan is for Roman Reigns to defend his Undisputed WWE Universal title against Sami Zayn at Elimination Chamber. The event will stream live on February 18th from the Bell Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This is the first time since SummerSlam 2019 that WWE is organizing a Premium Live Event in Canada. Additionally, with Quebec being the home state of Sami Zayn, he would look to take advantage of the crowd reaction and ride the wave of momentum created by the current storyline.
There is little to no chance that the Tribal Chief will lose to the Canadian superstar at the Chamber. However, the WWE Universe is clamoring for a match between the two at the Grandest Stage. The fans even hope for Zayn to end this historic title reign of the Head of the Table. On Monday, WWE officially announced Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns for the Undisputed title at WrestleMania. Thus, the chances of Zayn vs. Roman at the same event do look bleak. But as the fans know, the “card is subject to change.”
