Pairing two wrestlers into a couple is a great way to build a storyline. This practice is successful up to a certain extent and most of the time the couple has to be split apart. Sometimes, the pairing is for such a short period that fans don't even remember it.

WWE has been known for its on-screen love angles and couples. Sometimes, the pairing works really well and becomes memorable for the fans. However, there have been instances when the idea of wrestling couples did not go well and they had to soon drop the ball.
The on-screen couples that fail to deliver as per the expectations are soon split by the WWE. Sometimes, the idea is dropped so fast that the fans do not even remember that such a couple even existed.

10. Trish Stratus and Jeff Hardy
One half of the legendary tag-team duo of The Hardy Boys, Jeff Hardy was involved in an on-screen relationship with Trish Stratus. The relationship would emerge twice. The couple was initially paired in 2001 but soon Jeff was released from the company. Again in 2003, they were seen helping each other in their matches, getting cozy in backstage segments, and hanging out. The pairing would end in 2003 when Jeff was released again related to his substance abuse issues.
9. Daniel Bryan and Gail Kim
The man who led an unforgettable ‘Yes Movement’ in WWE, made a couple with Gail Kim. Daniel Bryan was portrayed as a ladies’ man during his initial days. Although the Bellas showed hints to Bryan of them liking him, Bryan ditched them and instead dated Gail Kim. Furious by this, the sisters then feuded with Gail. The couple would however not last for too long and Gail left the company in 2011.
8. Ted DiBiase Jr. and Maryse
The son of the Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase Jr. was seen in on-screen chemistry with Maryse. In order to revive DiBiase’s career after the disbandment of The Evolution, he was directed to pursue a love angle with Maryse. The idea although sounded good did not work well and they separated in 2011.
7. Teddy Long and Kristal
‘Holla!, Holla!, Holla!, Playa’, Teddy Long is inarguably one of the best General Managers of all time. During his time, he was involved in multiple comedic segments. One such storyline was when Kristal, a friend of Vickie Guerrero started a fake love angle with Teddy, the intent being to ditch Long and give power to Vickie. The couple was also involved in a funny segment where they married each other and Teddy went into a coma while saying, “I do”.
6. Randy Orton and Stacy Kiebler
‘The Viper’ and Stacy Kiebler’s was actually great for Randy Orton’s career. The angle was used to transition Orton from a babyface to a heel character which led him to feud with The Undertaker. The storyline also involved Randy kissing Stacy and then RKO’ing her in the middle of the ring. This one-month storyline actually did pretty well.
5. Enzo Amore and Nia Jax
One of the forgotten love angles in recent memory is of Nia Jax and Enzo Amore. The duo would be involved in backstage segments blushing to see each other and having feelings for one another. There were even plans of making the storyline big by involving Alexa Bliss in the mix. But, Enzo was released from the company soon after sexual assault allegations surfaced against him.
4. Spike Dudley and Molly Holly
One of the most decent and nicest pairings was the one with Spike Dudley and Molly Holly. The storyline was nothing less than a classic Romeo and Juliet love story. The couple would find love in midst of a family feud between the Hollys and Dudleys. The storyline would end during the Invasion when Molly turned on Spike and paired with Hurricane.

3. Kane and AJ Lee
‘The Big Red Machine’ making out with women has actually happened a number of times in WWE. In 2012, AJ was switching between CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, and Kane for love. The odd love segment did bring an entertainment factor to Kane’s character and was even loved by fans. The weirdness, however, did not last for long.
2. X-Pac and Tori
Tori was initially girlfriend of Kane when he was on a tag team with X-Pac. X-Pac, however, turned on Kane and stole Tori in the process. X-Pac would then join DX along with Tori. They both had great chemistry together and were prominent members of the faction. This ended with X-Pac dumping her and Bubba Ray Dudley slamming her to a table.

The pairing of the Punjabi playboy Great Khali with Natalya led to the formation of one of the most unique on-screen couples. The 7-foot giant debuted in WWE as a ruthless dominant figure. However, with time WWE decided to improvise his character by involving him in comedic and romantic angles. One such angle was when The Great Khali and Natalya made an on-screen couple in the 2010s.
