Who could be Universal Champion Roman Reigns’ next challenger?

Roman Reigns, as Paul Heyman likes to mention, is still the reigning, undefeated, undisputed, Universal Heavyweight Champion. While he came really close to losing the title, but some questionable means ensured that the Tribal Chief managed to retain the title against Brock Lesnar at WWE Crown Jewel 2021.
The referee was injured during the match, allowing The Usos to intervene, and ensure a successful title retention by Reigns. But the loss has only angered the Beast Incarnate further. Brock Lesnar vowed to destroy Reigns on Smackdown, and that’s exactly what he did. On the Season premiere of WWE Smackdown, the Beast was unleashed.
Lesnar single-handedly took down the entire Bloodline. He attacked Reigns with the steel steps, the camera, the barricades and even with the announce table. But he did not stop there. He even attacked the officials and the production crew, earning himself an indefinite suspension. WWE official, Adam Pearce, was completely destroyed during the process too.
With Lesnar indefinitely suspended, the question now remains that who could be the next challenger for Roman Reigns? The Head of the Table has gone through majority of the roster, but thankfully, the WWE Draft has brought in new faces on Smackdown. Drew McIntyre is obviously in line, but reportedly, their feud will be longer and kick off after Survivor Series. The most likely challenger for Reigns, from the current Blue brand is the Celtic Warrior Sheamus.
Sheamus has been one of the top performer of the company recently and rightfully deserves a title shot. While it is quite unlikely that the title will be taken off Reigns, Sheamus could put up a great show against Reigns. Jinder Mahal is another likely contender. But these 2 are Heel characters and if WWE decides to go with a face, Jeff Hardy is the most likely choice. On the other hand, new addition Ridge Holland could also make his big debut against the biggest Superstar in the company today.
Roman Reigns is likely to face Big E at WWE Crown Jewel 2021
WWE is currently gearing up for their upcoming PPV – Survivor Series. This event features several Champion vs Champion matches. This sets up a match between Big E and Roman Reigns. It could be one of the best matches of the year with the company’s biggest Heel and Face colliding.
Additionally, the suspension of Brock Lesnar allows the company to keep their feud on hold on focus on other, smaller feud. Lesnar could return by the end of Survivor Series to restart his feud against the Tribal Chief.
